3 Cordless Leaf Blower Battery Life and Airflow Decay Test

3 Cordless Leaf Blower Battery Life & Airflow Decay Test

The battery life and real-world airflow decay of cordless leaf blowers are key factors that determine the user experience in yard maintenance.

Many homeowners have the same questions: How long do different battery capacities last? Does the wind power drop significantly as the distance increases?

To answer these core questions, we conducted a special test on 3 popular cordless leaf blowers (models PTJ-023, PTJ-024, PTJ-025), breaking down everything from battery runtime to airflow decay to give you the most accurate, real-world data.

1. Battery Life Test: How Big Is the Runtime Gap Between Different Battery Capacities?

Battery life is the biggest pain point for cordless leaf blowers. We prepared 3 capacities of the same battery model: 2Ah, 4Ah, and 6Ah. In the same outdoor environment, we tested the runtime of each leaf blower at maximum speed.

To make the test more intuitive, we blow the fallen leaves on the lawn with the maximum wind speed separately.

The test results showed a highly consistent runtime pattern across all 3 leaf blowers, as detailed in the table below:

Model

2Ah Battery

4Ah Battery

6Ah Battery

PTJ-023

6.60min

12.37min

21.23min

PTJ-024

4.83min

9.05min

15.54min

PTJ-025

4.43min

8.31min

14.26min

The data confirms a core conclusion: battery capacity is the decisive factor in leaf blower runtime. A 6Ah battery can meet the long-term cleaning needs of a large courtyard, while a 2Ah battery is only suitable for small-scale, short-term on-site cleaning.

2. Airflow Decay Test: Does the Wind Power Really "Disappear" at Longer Distances?

Many users worry that the wind power will drop sharply when the leaf blower is farther from the cleaning area, leading to poor efficiency.

We chose a outdoor space, place a row of fallen leaves in front of each leaf blower, and tested the airflow decay at different distances at maximum speed, checking whether the fallen leaves were blown away.

The test results are summarized in the table below:

Model

Farthest Distance

PTJ-023

2.5m

PTJ-024

3.2m

PTJ-025

3.3m

At 1m and 2m, all 3 leaf blowers showed almost no airflow decay, the fallen leaves were easily blown away.

At 2.5m, the PTJ-024 and PTJ-025 maintained strong wind power, the fallen leaves were easily blown away too; And the PTJ-023 cannot blowing away fallen leaves anymore.

At 3.2m, PTJ-024 is not capable of blowing fallen leaves on the ground, while PTJ-025 has experienced some decline in wind power, but fallen leaves can still be blown away.

Combined with the core performance of each model:

The PTJ-025, with its inherently powerful airflow, maintains excellent cleaning performance even at 3m, making it ideal for long-distance leaf blowing in large yards.

The PTJ-024 delivers balanced airflow within 2.5m, perfect for the regular cleaning distances of most residential yards.

The PTJ-023 is best for close-range cleaning, maximizing its lightweight, low-noise advantages when used within 1.5m.

3. Test Summary: Choose the Right Leaf Blower to Match Your Needs

Combining the battery life and airflow decay test data, the ideal use cases for each leaf blower are clear:

① PTJ-023: Stable runtime, minimal close-range airflow decay, lightweight body, and low noise. Perfect for small yards, spot cleaning, and users prioritizing portability. Pair it with a 6Ah battery for daily small-area cleaning at an unbeatable value.

②  PTJ-024: Balanced runtime and airflow decay, with no significant power loss within 2.5m. The "all-rounder" for medium-sized yards, balancing efficiency and comfort to meet the regular needs of most homeowners.

③ PTJ-025: Inherently powerful airflow, minimal long-distance decay. Built for large yards and professional cleaning. Pair it with a 6Ah battery for long-lasting, long-distance high-efficiency blowing.

Final Buying Tips

For regular home yard cleaning: Choose the PTJ-024 with a 4Ah battery for perfect balance of runtime and power.

For large yards with heavy leaf fall: Go for the PTJ-025 with a 6Ah battery to eliminate efficiency worries.

For small yards and portability: The PTJ-023 with a 2Ah/4Ah battery is more than enough for daily use.

We hope this test helps you avoid common buying mistakes and find the perfect leaf blower for your yard, making your yard cleaning easier and more efficient than ever!
