DIY Power Tools Application | Drill Bit Storage Shelf Making

 4 circular wooden boards: 10cm in diameter, 2cm thick

DIY Working Step 2: Drill the Wooden Boards

1. Take one 1.2cm-thick, 10cm×10cm square wooden board, draw cross lines on it with a steel ruler. Repeat the same process for the second square board.

2. Next, process the circular wooden boards: drill an 8.0mm hole at the center of each board. Then, use drill bits matching the size of the bits, and drill evenly spaced 1cm-deep small holes along the edge of each circular board (these holes are for placing the bits). Finish drilling all 4 circular boards in the same way.

DIY Working Step 3: Sand the Surfaces of the Wooden Boards

Attach sandpaper to the sander and sand all the processed wooden boards thoroughly. Sanding is an important part of DIY working to ensure the safety and beauty of the finished product.

The sander quickly removes rough textures and burrs from the board surfaces; replace the sandpaper promptly if it is severely worn to ensure an even sanding effect.

DIY Working Step 5: Assemble the Entire Rack

1. Slide the 4 processed circular wooden boards (bit storage trays) onto one end of the steel rod one by one. Fasten a snap ring into the steel rod’s groove at the corresponding position after sliding each board on to fix the board height—this is a key detail in assembly.

2. Slide the two 10cm×10cm square wooden boards onto the steel rod through the pre-drilled holes to position the entire structure.

3. Finally, use the electric hand drill with a suitable bit to drive screws into the right-angle joints where the boards fit together, securing all components firmly for a stable finished product.
